Newlat Food record turnover

Angelo Mastrolia, head of NewPrinces, is the current manager of the group that acquired Carrefour Italia in a transaction valued at approximately €13.000 billion. With this acquisition, the holding company became the second largest Italian food group by revenue and the largest by employment, with 18.000 employees in Italy and 61 worldwide. Mastrolia, XNUMX, originally from Campagna (Salerno), began his career in the family dairy, Piana del Sele, after studying law at the University of Salerno. He then diversified his investments into leasing, real estate, and luxury yachts before returning to the food sector.

In 2004, he founded TMT Finance SA, which began an ambitious industrial expansion. He acquired Industrie Alimentari Molisane, then in 2008 he acquired Newlat SpA from Parmalat. Today, he is executive chairman of NewPrinces, a holding company with over 40 brands, including Giglio, Polenghi Lombardo, Torre in Pietra, and Centrale del Latte d'Italia. Its headquarters are in Reggio Emilia, but its focus is on London, where NewPrinces will be listed on the stock exchange in October 2025 with the goal of raising €500 million.

With Carrefour, the group aims to increase revenue from €750 million to €6,9 billion by 2025, exceeding €7 billion by 2027. The transaction includes approximately 437,5 stores in Italy and a €237,5 million relaunch plan, €200 million of which will come from Carrefour and €XNUMX million from NewPrinces. The funds will be invested in store modernization, logistics enhancement, and the relaunch of the GS brand.

"With Carrefour, we want to be the Luxottica of food," Mastrolia told La Stampa, explaining his intention to focus on local products, strengthen the distribution network, and maintain a constructive dialogue with suppliers. The goal is vertical integration between production and distribution to promote Made in Italy throughout the entire supply chain.
