Coca-Cola HBC Italia is strengthening its commitment to sustainability and industrial innovation. This is highlighted in the 22nd edition of the company's Sustainability Report, which captures the results achieved in 2025 and confirms a €175 million investment plan for the two-year period 2025-2026 for its six factories across the country.
The document, reviewed by Deloitte & Touche and drafted according to international GRI standards, highlights the progress made in reducing environmental impact, responsible resource management, and supporting local communities.
On the energy front, by 2025, 100% of the electricity purchased from the grid will come from renewable sources. Specific investments have also improved the efficiency of production facilities. At the Marcianise plant in the province of Caserta, the introduction of two new refrigeration systems has increased energy efficiency by up to 23%, with an estimated saving of over 1.200 MWh per year.
Significant results have also been achieved in logistics. The new can production line launched at the Oricola plant in Abruzzo has allowed us to directly serve Central Italy, avoiding approximately 240 kilometers of transport and contributing to the reduction of distribution-related emissions.
The company also continues its journey toward increasingly sustainable packaging. Starting in 2023, all plastic bottles for the company's soft drinks portfolio will be made from 100% recycled PET, excluding the cap and label. In 2025, the same solution will also be extended to the half-liter bottles of Lurisia Bolle and Stille waters produced in Roccaforte Mondovì.
Particular attention is paid to protecting water resources. All wastewater is treated before being released into the environment, and new systems installed at the Oricola and Nogara plants have saved nearly 6 million liters of water in 2025, with over 9 million liters expected in 2026. Furthermore, in Nogara, replacing the latest washing system with a technology that uses air instead of water will save an additional 3,5 million liters per year.
The company's commitment also extends to local communities. Over two million products were donated to local associations and organizations in 2025. Corporate volunteering is also growing, with over a thousand hours dedicated by employees to social initiatives, a 49% increase compared to the previous year.
Among the most impactful projects is #YouthEmpowered, the program dedicated to youth orientation and training. In 2025, it involved 39 young people across Italy through mentoring, masterclasses, scholarships, and career guidance.
"Industrial investments are the key to generating long-term value and transforming sustainability commitments into concrete actions," said Giangiacomo Pierini, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Director of Coca-Cola HBC Italia, emphasizing how innovation, efficiency, and sustainability are key elements of the company's growth strategy in the country.
