Pontremoli is rediscovering one of its go-to places for daily shopping. Conad City reopened today on Via Monsignor Giovanni Sismondo, a historic local supermarket that has been in the center of this Lunigiana town for over twenty years, completely renovated after a major redevelopment.

The store, which covers 350 square meters and employs a total of 13 people, features more modern and functional spaces, designed to enhance the shopping experience and showcase typical local products.

Special attention has been paid to the fresh and ultra-fresh departments. The fruit and vegetable section offers numerous local and organic products, while the delicatessen focuses on traditional Lunigiana specialties, including fresh artisanal pasta and vegetable pies. The bakery and pastry selection is also extensive, with locally sourced bread, focaccia, and traditional desserts, as well as pizzas made in-house. The selection is rounded out by a butcher's shop, a self-service fishmonger's shop, and a selection of regional and national wines.

One of the supermarket's strengths remains its focus on the culinary excellence of Lunigiana. The shelves feature over one hundred local products and more than 300 products from the "I Nostri Ori" line. These include testaroli pontremolesi, tortelli alla pontremolese, herb pies, Karsenta De.Co., and Amor, as well as traditional local cheeses and produce.

"The Via Sismondo store has been a point of reference for local residents for over twenty years," say Conad Nord Ovest partners Andrea Musso and Sandra Menconi. "The loyalty shown by our customers has prompted us to renovate the premises out of a deep sense of gratitude to the Pontremoli community. We have expanded the presence of Lunigiana products to support small local producers and promote the region."

The projects include a new energy-efficient LED lighting system, the replacement of refrigerated cabinets with more efficient models, and a complete overhaul of the shelving to improve usability.

The supermarket also offers various services, including free Wi-Fi, bill payments, phone top-ups, and the use of meal vouchers and gluten-free vouchers. Pets are also welcome, using dedicated carts.

To celebrate the reopening, a dedicated promotional flyer has been created. The store will be open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sunday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. With this initiative, Conad Nord Ovest is further strengthening its presence in the region, focusing on proximity and the promotion of local products.
