Lidl has reached the milestone of 13.000 stores worldwide with the opening of a new supermarket in Raunheim, Hesse, not far from Frankfurt.

The store measures approximately 1.200 square meters and marks a significant milestone for a brand that currently operates in 32 countries and generates a turnover of approximately 140 billion euros.

Germany remains its largest market, with over 3.250 stores. And it is precisely here that Lidl is concentrating a significant portion of its growth, especially in medium-sized cities and metropolitan areas.

The opening of Raunheim was accompanied by three days of customer-focused initiatives, with app promotions, in-store activities, and product demonstrations.

“We are combining the strength of global expansion with a strong local presence,” said Friedrich Fuchs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lidl Germany.

The figure of 13.000 stores clearly reflects the scale the group has achieved and the continuity with which Lidl continues to invest in its physical network, even in mature markets.

For the German discounter, the next step will be primarily qualitative: increasing density in urban areas, better managing high-traffic areas, and combining network growth with an increasingly efficient and standardized format.
