Pam Panorama is taking a new step in its sustainability journey by officially starting the supply of renewable energy under the ten-year agreement signed with Iberdrola Italia. The off-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed last year has entered into operation, guaranteeing photovoltaic energy to the group's entire commercial network.
The agreement covers all Pam, Panorama, Pam Local, and Pam City stores, powered by energy produced by the recently inaugurated Iberdrola Fenix photovoltaic plant, considered the largest solar farm currently operating in Italy.
The agreement represents one of the most significant renewable energy procurement projects in the Italian large-scale retail sector and aims to concretely support the sector's decarbonization process by reducing the environmental impact of commercial activities.
The contract envisages the supply of a total of 1.000 GWh of certified renewable energy over ten years. It is estimated that the project will avoid over 38.300 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, an environmental benefit equivalent to the energy needs of approximately 40.300 families.
For Pam Panorama, this is an important part of its sustainability strategy, which aims to increasingly integrate low-impact environmental solutions into the daily management of its sales network.

"The collaboration with Iberdrola allows us to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and contribute to the decarbonization of large-scale retail trade, as part of a broader plan of sustainability initiatives."
Iberdrola Italy also emphasized the strategic value of the transaction. "The operational launch of the agreement with Pam Panorama demonstrates how renewable energy can be integrated on a large scale into corporate consumption models, generating environmental and competitive benefits," stated Country Manager Valerio Faccenda. "Our goal is to support companies with long-term solutions capable of accelerating their decarbonization journey."
The energy for the stores will come entirely from Iberdrola Fenix, the large photovoltaic plant built between the Sicilian municipalities of Belpasso, Centuripe, and Paternò, in the provinces of Catania and Enna. The commissioning of the plant thus allows for the full implementation of the PPA and strengthens the use of renewable sources in large-scale retail trade, confirming the growing popularity of long-term agreements for the supply of green energy in the retail sector.
