Spar Hungary closed 2025 with growing results, confirming its position among the leading large-scale retail operators in the country. The group recorded a turnover of HUF 1.186 billion, equivalent to approximately €3,33 billion, a 5,9% increase over the previous year, despite an economic environment characterized by cautious consumption and cost pressures.

Over the course of the year, the retailer invested a total of HUF 27,7 billion, equivalent to approximately €78 million, primarily in expanding its retail network and modernizing its stores. Three new stores were opened in 2025, while twenty existing ones were renovated with the introduction of innovative technologies and new layouts focused on convenience and the shopping experience.

Thanks to these interventions, the Spar Hungary network has grown to 647 stores. The modernizations included the installation of self-checkouts, electronic price tags, and new areas dedicated to convenience products and promotions.

At the same time, the company invested HUF 1,9 billion in food production and another HUF 2,7 billion in logistics. A key element of the strategy was the opening of a new sorting center in Budapest, designed to serve forty stores in the capital, while the logistics fleet was expanded to 147 vehicles.

The franchising program also achieved good results. Twelve new stores joined the network in 2025, which now comprises 316 stores and 4.120 employees. The network generated revenue of HUF 203,5 billion, equivalent to approximately €573 million.

On the manufacturing front, the Regnum plant in Bicske generated revenues of HUF 65,7 billion, while the Perbál site contributed HUF 12,5 billion. Together with the convenience products plant in Üllő, the three facilities generated net sales of nearly HUF 82 billion.

2025 also marked the thirtieth anniversary of INTERSPAR hypermarkets in Hungary, a format that continues to focus on the promotion of local products and the breadth of the assortment.

Significant progress has also been made in e-commerce. Collaboration with the Wolt platform allowed the retailer to migrate its online store to the delivery platform, surpassing the milestone of one million deliveries by the end of the year.

Spar Hungary has also continued to invest in staff training, introducing artificial intelligence-based tools into its professional development programs. Its partnership with the SuperShop loyalty program also continues, involving over four million customers and generating 87 million transactions in 2025.

On the sustainability front, the group has expanded its electric vehicle charging network, reaching 198 charging points across 52 locations. The collaboration with the anti-waste app Munch also continues, which has enabled the recovery of over 1,1 million food packages since 2022.

Other environmental achievements include a 70% reduction in plastic use for its top-selling meat products and the introduction of the CHEP pallet system, which has avoided over 30 tons of waste. Finally, the company has donated more than HUF 218 million to charitable initiatives and social projects supporting local communities.
