Sammontana celebrates its 80th anniversary with a new addition to one of its most recognizable products. The Tutto per me ice cream bar brings its family-sized gelato to a single-serving 80-gram size, designed for on-the-go consumption.
The initiative stems from a brand created in the 1950s to accompany the introduction of the first freezers in Italian homes. Barattolino had then identified a new form of domestic and shared consumption. The new version works in the opposite direction: an individual portion, immediate and suitable for breaks throughout the day.
The format thus broadens the product's reach, positioning it among snacks, desserts, and impulse ice cream. The goal is to cater to a variety of occasions, from after-lunch snacks to strolls, to moments of consumption related to shopping, sports, or leisure.
The range includes five recipes selected from Barattolino's most popular flavors: Hazelnut, Croccantino, Black Cherry, Cream, and Vanilla & Pistachio. Sammontana has retained the sensory characteristics of the original product, focusing primarily on size, portability, and intended use.
The launch confirms a development path that over the years has led the company to complement its historic products with offerings like Amando, made with plant-based ingredients, and Gruvi. In this case, however, the innovation doesn't stem from a new recipe, but from the ability to adapt an icon to contemporary consumer habits.
With the Tutto per me Barattolino, Sammontana is leveraging the power of its brand to make a more decisive entry into the out-of-home channel. This move brings the product to a wider audience and increases consumption opportunities without changing its identity.
