After seven years from the first opening and with almost 200 points of sale in six regions of Northern Italy, ALDI enters a new strategic phase of consolidation. The objective is twofold: to respond to the high cost of living and to strengthen its role as a stronghold of concrete support for the customer, the territory and the local economy. With the philosophy "Spend less, live better”, the company focuses on a compact and complete assortment, capable of guaranteeing the best quality at the lowest possible price.
Since 2018, ALDI has been making Made in Italy its strong point: about 80% of food products comes from Italian suppliers, the “Custodi del Gusto”, committed to promoting local gastronomic excellence. The brand has managed to carve out a central role in the market thanks to a dynamic discount model, which places the customer at the center and adapts to new consumer needs.
“In a context that sees Italy facing great economic and social challenges, ALDI reaffirms today its presence and closeness, not only in terms of proximity and growing distribution of our stores but above all in terms of value impact – says Michael Gscheidlinger, Country Managing Director of ALDI Italia – After 7 years of presence in the Belpaese, today we are ready to begin a new strategic phase that aims at consolidation. We look to the future with greater awareness, responsibility and clarity, through a change of pace that presupposes greater integration with international strategies”.
The widespread presence on the territory has also favoured interventions of urban regeneration, especially in small towns, with branches built on redeveloped areas and returned to the community. To date, ALDI has over 3.800 collaborators in Italy, with a average age of management less than 36 years has always been female share in managerial roles above 50%The team is made up of people from 64 different nationalities.
In line with the global strategy of the ALDI SÜD Group, the company aims to making sustainability accessible to all, working with suppliers to improve the entire supply chain and reduce environmental impact. A path that translates into concrete and rewarded actions, such as the awards “Italy's Best Employers 2024” and the recent mentions for the quality of communication in the selection processes.
With this new phase, ALDI looks to the future determined to strengthen its identity in Italy and to contribute to the growth of the territories in which it operates.
