Fileni, one of the main players in the Italian poultry sector, and the Italian Society of Human Nutrition (SINU) announce the start of a scientific research on the topic “Eggs and health” which aims to investigate the peculiar nutritional characteristics of eggs and their effects on human health.

The study, which will aim to define a fairer and more objective framework in relation to a food
often subject to prejudices and clichés, it will be divided into two scientific reviews of the literature
in the field.

The first, of a narrative nature, will take into consideration the chemical-physical and nutritional properties
of the egg, such as proteins, lipids, choline, cholesterol, vitamins, etc., the differences existing between the various
types available on the market, recommendations on consumption in the various stages of people's lives
through an analysis of the various national and international guidelines, as well as their relative impact
environmental.

The second review, of a systematic “umbrella” type, will instead focus on the existing relationship
between egg consumption and human health and will focus on the relationship with cholesterolemia, cardiovascular risk, neurocognitive capacity and sarcopenia
, or the process of losing mass and strength
muscle generally associated with the aging phase.

The study, the results of which will also be published with the contribution of Fileni, constitutes a new
demonstration of theGroup's commitment to promoting a balanced and quality diet, the result of a deep bond with the territory and a 100% made in Italy production, as well as of its desire to promote a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, in which exercise and a healthy diet are complementary to guarantee a high level of psycho-physical well-being based on a varied and balanced nutrition combined with constant physical exercise.

SYNU It is a non-profit scientific society that brings together scholars and nutrition experts in its
different chemical, molecular, genetic, biochemical, physiological, psychological, cognitive-behavioral, clinical, technological, educational, economic, political and social aspects.

The Society is part of national and international Federations of Scientific Societies and collaborates with research institutes, public and private institutions, and other scientific societies. SINU is committed to promoting scientific research, formulating reference documents, organizing events at international, national and local level, and providing information and education in the food and nutrition fields.
nutritional.

The preliminary results of the study will be presented at the next national conference
SINU, which will take place in Piacenza from 4 to 6 June 2024, and will be the subject of two articles, which will be
submitted to an indexed and peer-reviewed scientific journal in the nutritional sector.

At the end of the study, Fileni will contribute to the dissemination of the results to demonstrate the Group's commitment to promoting healthy eating.
