The company has respected the commitment made to its beekeepers by keeping the promises made for the 2023 harvest. To protect a sector at risk such as honey, it has paid its collaborators an appropriate compensation, thus allowing to guarantee the future of this strategic sector for the entire agri-food system and for the protection of environmental ecosystems.
Castel San Pietro Terme (Bo), April 11, 2024 – Piana Beekeeping, leader in honey production for 121 years, once again confirms its dedication to protecting the supply chain, starting with the remuneration of Italian beekeepers. As promised last year, it paid its suppliers 5,20 euros for every kilo of wildflower honey, thus recognizing their precious work.
This choice was born at a time when the beekeeping sector has faced several challenges, and Apicoltura Piana wanted to demonstrate its willingness to support beekeepers. Timely payment and the minimum guaranteed price have been a priority for the company, which by doing so has at least allowed the recovery of production costs and in some cases has encouraged investments in innovation: a small action that aims to redefine a more rewarding minimum threshold.
"The relationship with our beekeepers is the basis of our success, we know well and appreciate the effort and passion that move Italian beekeepers and we believe it is essential to support their efforts, putting them in the conditions to operate with the necessary resources. Furthermore, defining a minimum remuneration threshold represents an advantage for everyone.
