With 1.400 tons of product donated, Barilla confirms its position as one of the main supporters of Banco Alimentare in Italy in 2024. The partnership is based on a shared commitment to supporting vulnerable people and promoting social inclusion. Thanks to significant donations, the Group guarantees access to healthy and nutritious food to a growing number of people, reached by the organization that, with a widespread network of over 7.600 charitable structures throughout Italy, ensures effective and timely interventions to an ever-increasing number of people in difficulty.
Another example of concrete commitment is the corporate volunteering initiative promoted by the Mulino Bianco brand, which in 2023 involved approximately 160 employees of the Group in over 1000 hours of corporate volunteering, contributing to a donation of approximately 16 tons of food products. The activity involved 10 Italian regions, with volunteers working in the regional offices of Banco Alimentare.
Barilla's commitment to communities is not limited to the Christmas period, but translates into active support throughout the year. In 2023, the Group launched solidarity initiatives in several countries where it operates, donating a total of 3,2 million euros and approximately 3.200 tons of products. The Company's dedication to communities has seen over 2010 million euros donated since 60 for the development of local communities, of which 1 million euros allocated to Civil Protection in favor of the flooded areas in Emilia-Romagna, and more than 45.000 tons of products to alleviate social fragility.
Among the Group's most significant initiatives are its contributions to the Red Cross: 2 million euros donated to the community of Parma, along with rescue vehicles for various associations, including some committees of the Italian Red Cross. Furthermore, through its Plants in Castiglione delle Stiviere and Novara, ambulances were donated to the local Red Cross in both 2023 and 2024, alongside regular product donations to accredited organizations to support communities and those most in need.
