Capsules and ground coffee increasingly closer in turnover

Pods, capsules and ground coffee: the supermarket shelves after being practically blocked (except for some new brands) for many years, with the advent of pods first and then capsules they changed radically.

Ten years ago, when capsules were already in full swing, there were not many brands that quickly updated their offerings to meet new needs. Indeed, it was the suppliers themselves who sometimes denied the evidence; they did not want to convince themselves that the world was changing and that capsules were bringing about a historic change, where the category would never be the same again. The capsule has made the cost of coffee skyrocket €/kg, initially stunned many well-known brands on the shelf, updated the strategies of retailers especially on private label products, in short, a real experience was experienced revolution.

After Covid that had brought the consumer back to old habits (ground coffee) then abandoned again, after inflation that has mortified prices to the public and forced companies and retailers to make new choices, where have we arrived? What is the current distribution of turnover between ground coffee and capsules?
