To underline the commitment to promoting research and innovation on Italian hops, on Thursday 28 November, following the conference “The centrality of research for the development of a sustainable and Made in Italy brewing supply chain: the experience of the LOB.IT project” promoted by the Council for Agricultural Research and Analysis of Agricultural Economics (CREA), Carlsberg Italia and CREA signed a memorandum of understanding.
In particular, through the agreement just signed, the two companies intend to provide consultancy and support hop companies in the adoption of precision technologies for crop management, carry out training activities for farmers involved in hop production or interested in starting production, with particular reference to sustainable cultivation techniques in the use of natural and environmental resources as well as related to the topic of genetic innovation, promote the direct involvement of agricultural companies and their representatives in the process of implementation and design of innovation.
CREA is the Italian research body dedicated to agri-food supply chains with a multidisciplinary approach to the great challenges of the twenty-first century related to the sustainability of agri-food production in the spirit of the principles of the circular economy, bioeconomy and innovation transfer and today represents the strategic partner to support Carlsberg Italia's objective of making the beer supply chain increasingly sustainable and efficient.
