This spring marks a shift in eating habits and consumption patterns, increasingly oriented toward informal conviviality, widespread socializing, and a return to the outdoors, with experiences ranging from aperitifs to picnics to holiday barbecues. This is the backdrop for the offerings of Veroni, a historic Correggio-based cured meats producer, which focuses on two emerging macro-trends—snackification and grill culture—to meet an increasingly fluid and modular demand, far removed from traditional models of structured meals.

The ongoing transformation primarily concerns lifestyle: the table loses its rigidity and becomes an open space, adaptable to different moments of the day, where consumption is fragmented into shorter but frequent occasions, in the spirit of sharing and convenience. In this context, so-called snackification is emerging, one of the most significant phenomena in the contemporary food landscape, which sees the progressive shift from full meals to a sequence of small moments of consumption.

Mini portions, ready-made combinations, and easy-to-transport solutions thus become key elements, combining flavor, nutritional balance, and speed of use, also meeting the needs of those who live away from home. At the same time, the value of social eating is growing, with food once again assuming a relational function, becoming an opportunity for meeting and sharing in increasingly informal and spontaneous contexts. To respond to these dynamics, Veroni is introducing its new Snack Line in Italy, already established in the United States, consisting of ready-made mini combinations that combine cured meats, provolone cheese, breadsticks, and dried or dehydrated fruit.

A range designed to complement different moments of the day, from office breaks to post-workout snacks to outdoor leisure time, with six products ranging from Salame Milano to Calabrese to Prosciutto Crudo. Alongside snackification, the company also focuses on grill culture, a trend that peaks in spring thanks to the return of outdoor activities. Terraces, gardens, and green spaces thus become new places for consumption, where the grill takes center stage and opens the door to experimentation that also extends to the world of charcuterie.

Mortadella Grill & Enjoy fits this bill, a contemporary reinterpretation of Bologna PGI mortadella designed for barbecues and outdoor use. The product comes in a single 400-gram slice, 22 centimeters in diameter and 2 centimeters thick, designed for versatility and ease of use across a variety of eating occasions. When seared on the grill, mortadella develops a new sensorial dimension, with a crispy surface and intense aroma that make it ideal for gourmet sandwiches, skewers, and reimagined platters. The platter itself stands out as a symbol of this evolution, transforming from a simple appetizer to a centerpiece of the table, capable of adapting to different contexts and moments.

The composition becomes more creative and dramatic, also inspired by American charcuterie boards, with pairings ranging from cured meats, cheeses, fresh or dried fruit, and beverage accompaniments. This evolution reflects a cultural transformation, even before a gastronomic one, in which food is increasingly integrated into daily rhythms and social occasions, overcoming the clear distinction between main meals and secondary moments.

The return to the outdoors, encouraged by longer days and spring holidays, further strengthens these dynamics, pushing for practical, shareable, and easily replicable solutions. In this context, Veroni consolidates its positioning by focusing on products that combine cured meat tradition and consumer innovation, with a range designed to capture new eating habits.

Founded in 1925 in Correggio by five brothers, the company is now a well-established player in the industry, with an international presence and a production chain rooted in Emilia-Romagna. The introduction of the Snack Line and Mortadella Grill & Enjoy is part of a strategy that addresses evolving consumer trends, aiming to address increasingly diverse occasions. This direction confirms how the food market, including the cured meats segment, is increasingly driven by flexibility, experience, and the ability to adapt to ever-changing lifestyles.
