La Cadena confirms a new opening in the fiscal year 2027, through a second club in Puebla and is preparing to inaugurate in Querétaro
Between October 9th and 12th, 2026, Costco confirmed a new club in Mexico within its plan of 33 openings around the world for fiscal year 2027. It will begin calling for a second location in Puebla, in Los Angeles (San Andrés Cholula), and is expected to open at October finals on club de Corregidora, in Querétaro.
The analysis was carried out by the Food Retail Italia group, a company that operates in the Latin American markets as a bridge between Italian industrial production and the Latin American retail mass market. The club format is one of the most popular in Mexico and one of the most interesting for foreign players.
Costco's expansion is concentrated in the middle cities of the Baja and the center of the country, where the middle class is growing and the competence of large-scale formats is still less than in the city of Mexico.
The member club combines low price for volume and a short and selected sweater. In Mexico perform with Sam's Club de Walmex y City Club de Soriana; in Colombia and Central America, PriceSmart follows the same model. It is a format that builds loyalty among families and small shops over and over again, and that forces traditional retail to respond in price as a whole.
