From September 30 to October 2, Madrid becomes the world capital of fruit and vegetables with the 17th edition of Fruit Attraction. The trade show, organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, confirms its position as an international benchmark for the sector, with over 2.460 exhibitors from 64 countries, an 8,4% increase over last year. The exhibition space has reached 78.000 square meters, a 10% increase compared to 2024.
More than 120.000 professionals from 150 countries are expected. "The industry finds here a unique platform for innovation and business," emphasize the organizers, who this year have increased the number of pavilions involved to ten.
The heart of the fair remains the Fresh Produce Area, accounting for approximately 70% of the exhibition. However, the importance of technology is growing: the Innova&Tech area, which includes Biotech Attraction and Smart Agro, saw a 31% increase over the previous edition.
The international character is strengthened: almost half of the companies present (1.418) come from abroad and 14 new countries, including Vietnam, Algeria, and Uzbekistan, are making their debut. In total, there are 323 new entries.
The International Buyers Program plays a key role, with approximately 700 buyers invited from 67 countries. Special attention will be paid to Mexico and Malaysia, this year's guests of honor, while tomatoes will be the focus of a dedicated calendar of events.
There's also room for sustainability, with the Organic Hub Tour guiding visitors through certified organic stands, and innovation, with 50 new products presented at The Innovation Hub.
The opening ceremony will be presided over by Spanish Agriculture Minister Luis Planas, with Andalusia as the main sponsor.
