Diageo has officially announced the closure of the UK Chase distillery, located in Herefordshire, and has decided to move the production of its gin and vodka to Scotland. The decision was communicated to staff as early as June 2024 and represents a strategic move to secure the future of the Chase brand.

The acquisition dates back to 2021. The portfolio included a total of seven gins, four vodkas and an elderflower liqueur

Diageo said the closure was part of a restructuring program to improve operational efficiency and create growth opportunities for the brand. Production has been moved to Cameronbridge Distillery in Fife, Scotland, which already produces liquids for other brands in the group such as Gordon's and Tanqueray.
