Disaronno Group has completed the acquisition of 100% of Amaro Averna and Zedda Piras, historic Italian spirits brands previously owned by Campari Group. The closing of the transaction, announced today, represents a strategic step in the international growth of the recently rebranded Italian multinational.
The agreement was signed in December 2025 and was finalized through the establishment of the new company Meridia, based in Sassari, which will assume governance of the activities previously controlled by Campari Group. With the completion of the transaction, control of the two brands officially passes to the company led by the Reina family.
The acquisition further strengthens the group's portfolio, which operates in the Spirits, Wines, and Ingredients sectors. It has over 800 employees, generates revenues of approximately €370 million, and is present in approximately 160 countries. The transaction also had a direct impact on employment: the eleven employees working at the two production plants, located in Sicily for Amaro Averna and in Sardinia for Zedda Piras, have been entirely absorbed by the new company Meridia, ensuring the continuity of industrial operations.
"This transaction represents a fundamental step in our growth plan and allows us to strategically enrich our international portfolio," said Marco Ferrari, CEO of Disaronno Group. According to the manager, the addition of Amaro Averna will significantly strengthen the group's presence in three priority markets: the United States, Germany, and Italy.
As for Zedda Piras, the historic Sardinian myrtle brand, the goal will be to further consolidate its positioning on the Italian market, enhancing one of the most representative labels of the island's liqueur tradition. The closing announcement comes just days after the unveiling of Disaronno Group's new corporate identity, an evolution aimed at strengthening the holding company's global profile and making the structure that encompasses all of the group's activities more recognizable.
In addition to the renowned Disaronno liqueur, the spirits portfolio includes brands such as Disaronno Velvet, Tia Maria, The Busker Irish Whiskey, Engine Gin, Sagamore Rye, Rabarbaro Zucca, Artic Vodka, Isolabella Limoncello, and Sambuca. In the wine sector, the group operates through the Duca di Salaparuta, Florio, and Corvo brands, while the Ingredients division rounds out an increasingly diversified business.
