The UK and Ireland arm of German dairy giant Müller returned to profit in 2024, after two consecutive years of losses. According to accounts filed with Companies House, the Shropshire-based division recorded a pre-tax profit of £34,3 million, compared to a loss of £65,3 million in 2023 and £6,2 million in 2022.
The improvement was accompanied by a slight increase in turnover, from £2,43 billion to £2,45 billion. In the UK, revenues rose from £2,38 billion to £2,41 billion, while in Europe they fell from £52,8 million to £44,4 million, and in the rest of the world from £880 to £507.
Company management highlighted how Müller Yogurts & Desserts' performance has been particularly solid, with revenues, margins and volumes growing thanks above all to the success of the Müller Corner Originals line.
New developments for 2024 also include the partnership with Myprotein, which has led to the launch of a range of high-protein yoghurts, drinks, and desserts, a rapidly expanding sector that Müller is banking on to consolidate its future.
The Müller Milk & Ingredients division recorded increasing volumes thanks to new contracts and the renewal of agreements with key customers, elements that strengthen the sustainability of the business.
The group also continued to invest in marketing and capital expenditure to stimulate growth in the coming years, confirming the centrality of the British and Irish markets in its strategies.
