"It is a great emotion and a great satisfaction to receive this nomination as Cavaliere del Lavoro, which comes at a significant moment for me, as the generational transition is taking place successfully in family businesses. My first thought therefore goes to how lucky I have been to have had, in these years, so many family members and collaborators who have participated in the realization of my dreams. I dedicate this recognition to them, because it is the fruit of teamwork and a history in which so many have believed in me and participated forcefully in the realization of what is, I repeat again, a dream."
These are the words of Edoardo Roncadin, 75 years old, president of the Roncadin Group and president of Bofrost Italia, shortly after learning from the Quirinale website the news that the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella has appointed him Cavaliere del Lavoro, with a decree dated 31 May 2024.
Edoardo Roncadin began his entrepreneurial story at the age of 16 when he emigrated from Friuli to Germany in search of work, and in 1968 he opened the pizzeria “Vesuvio” with an ice cream shop attached. Over the years the business expanded, also with the involvement of his brothers, but the desire to “return home” remained strong: so Edoardo Roncadin, who had begun to collaborate with the German group Bofrost (specialized in the home delivery of frozen foods), brought Bofrost to Italy at the beginning of the 1991s, after which, in XNUMX, he founded the Roncadin company in Meduno (PN), specialized in the production of frozen pizzas for the Italian and international large-scale retail trade.
Today, alongside Edoardo Roncadin are his wife Dagmar and his children Dario, Katia and Natascha, committed to carrying on the family business together with all the people of Roncadin and Bofrost who continue to make their father Edoardo's dream come true.
