Euricom strengthens its position in the European cereal and ready-made meals market with the acquisition of 100% of Ebly, historic joint venture of Mars e AxerealThe transaction, announced in recent days, includes the Ebly brand and the production plant in Châteaudun, France, considered the largest plant in the European Union for the production of microwaveable ready meals. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. With this move, Euricom consolidates its leadership in the European rice and cereal sector, strengthening its role as a strategic partner for major private label, foodservice, and B2B operators.
The integration of Ebly allows the Italian group to leverage an increasingly broad portfolio, combining premium brands of packaged rice and healthy snacks with strong expertise in the ready-to-eat segment. The Châteaudun plant has a production capacity of over 100 million units per year and represents a key asset for capturing the growing demand for rice and cereals in microwaveable pouches.
Ebly was a pioneer in Europe in the category of pre-cooked wheat-based products and now complements Euricom's existing offering in this sector, which includes dry pasta, flour, and semolina.
The Ebly brand will thus join the group's established brands such as Curtiriso and Riso Flora in Italy and Sonko in Poland. As part of the transaction, Mars will continue to market Ebly products to current customers at least until the end of 2026, ensuring business continuity during the transition phase.
"We are grateful to Mars and Axéréal for their trust in Euricom," commented Bruno Sempio, Chairman of the Group. "We will work with Ebly's highly specialized team to further develop the microwaveable ready meals sector and offer a comprehensive offering to customers across Europe." The transaction is subject exclusively to an information and consultation process with Ebly SAS's trade union representatives. If no further obstacles arise, the transaction is expected to close by the end of April 2026. With this acquisition, Euricom strengthens its integration across the entire value chain, leveraging an industrial platform of 14 plants in the European Union and a global processing capacity of approximately one million tons per year.
