Everwood Capital is accelerating its consolidation in the European refrigerated transport sector with the acquisition of 100% of Grupo Transmolbo, a Spanish operator specializing in international temperature-controlled transport, with a strong presence in the fruit and vegetable sector and groupage services. The transaction, the value of which was not disclosed, is part of the fund's growth strategy through its Transport and Logistics Fund.

Following the acquisition, Transmolbo will be integrated into Transportes Cruz, another company already owned by Everwood Capital, creating a platform specialized in logistics and cold chain transport between the Iberian Peninsula and the main European markets.

According to the investment firm, the refrigerated transport segment is currently one of the most dynamic sectors in logistics thanks to the growing demand for temperature-controlled services in the food, fruit and vegetable, and pharmaceutical sectors. The objective of the transaction is to strengthen the group's operational capacity and expand its geographical coverage, creating a leading operator in the international transport of perishable goods.

"With the integration of Grupo Transmolbo and Transportes Cruz, we are taking a decisive step in building a leading international refrigerated transport platform," said Juan José Andrés, partner at Everwood Capital. "The combination of full-load capacity, specialization in groupage, and a strengthened presence in northern, central, southern, and eastern Spain will allow us to consolidate a leading group for the cold chain between the Iberian Peninsula and Europe."

Founded in 1978 in Valencia, Transmolbo is a family-run business with a turnover of approximately €25 million and 84 employees. The company operates a fleet of 124 tractor units and 145 refrigerated semi-trailers, as well as a 2.000-square-meter logistics center dedicated to groupage operations in Ribarroja del Turia, near Valencia.

The company's operations focus primarily on international routes to France, Italy, Belgium, and the Netherlands, strategic markets for the export of fresh and perishable products from Spain. This specialization has made Transmolbo a consolidated partner for the fruit and vegetable sector.

The company's founding partners emphasized that joining the group will accelerate the digital transformation process, strengthen ESG policies, and further improve the quality of service offered to clients.

Following the integration, the new logistics hub formed by Transportes Cruz and Grupo Transmolbo will achieve combined revenues of nearly €70 million, with approximately 340 employees and a fleet of over 620 vehicles. The group will also have an operational presence spread across Navarre, Castile-La Mancha, Murcia, Alicante, and Valencia, strengthening its position in the European cold storage logistics market.
