Famila closed 2025 with record results and strengthened its position in Italian large-scale retail trade. The national brand, part of Selex Gruppo Commerciale, achieved a turnover of €3,3 billion, confirming significant growth both on a like-for-like basis and thanks to the expansion of its sales network.
According to NielsenIQ data, sales increased by 4,3% on a like-for-like basis, while overall growth reached 6,4%. This result allowed Famila to increase its market share to 4,1%, surpassing the 4% threshold and consolidating its position as the fourth-largest supermarket brand nationwide.
This process has also been supported by the strengthening of the sales network, which now comprises 354 stores throughout Italy. A significant contribution has come from the master franchising agreement between Etruria Retail and GMF, a company of the Unicomm group, which has led to the conversion of 37 stores under the Famila brand, strengthening the brand's presence in strategic areas such as Tuscany and Umbria.
The brand continues to focus on a model that combines a strong national identity with local management, particularly emphasizing the fresh and ultra-fresh departments, customer service, and a convenience policy designed to meet the new consumer needs of families.
The growth path will continue in 2026. The group has announced investments of approximately €190 million to open 20 new stores and renovate 33 existing ones. This plan aims to further strengthen the brand's competitiveness and consolidate its presence in key areas of the country.
"We are very satisfied with our brand's performance," commented Maniele Tasca, General Manager of Selex Gruppo Commerciale. "Exceeding the 4% market share threshold establishes Famila as one of the most important brands in the national panorama, currently present in 14 Italian regions. This result was achieved thanks to the work of our member companies, who have successfully adapted the brand to their respective regions while maintaining quality, affordability, freshness, and service at the core."
Famila's results are part of the growth of Selex, Italy's leading modern retail group with a 16,2% market share, a network of over 3.250 stores, and more than 44 employees. This model, based on collaboration between independent companies, continues to demonstrate its ability to generate growth and value in an increasingly competitive market.
