Fiere di Parma strengthens its presence in the agri-food and alcohol sector thanks to the acquisition of a share of Rome Bar Show. This event, specialized in mixology and the promotion of spirits and cocktails, represents a point of reference for the international industry. The Parma fair, already known for its events Cibus e Tuttofood, aims to further diversify its activities, decisively entering a global market estimated at 1.800 billion euros in 2024 and growing by 6% annually until 2028.
The agreement allows Fiere di Parma to strengthen the competitive positioning of its fairs, thanks also to a management praised for efficiency by the Court of Auditors of Emilia-Romagna. The aim is to consolidate the leadership of the Rome Bar Show at a global level, taking advantage of synergies with the other fairs of the group. The exhibitors of Cibus, Tuttofood e Rome Bar Show will be able to benefit from extended visibility and advanced networking services.
“The synergy between Rome, Milan and Parma will allow us to bring new lifeblood to a sector that is expected to show solid growth, especially off-trade and at an international level,” says Antonio Cellie, CEO of Fiere di Parma, “and to offer an innovative, global and versatile platform to the sector, starting from Italy and aiming for continental leadership. Objectives for which we consider the Roma Bar Show operation and the collaboration with the current management, in which we confirm our full trust, to be fundamental.”
The European mixology market, which includes spirits, sparkling wines and complementary products, is worth 465 billion euros and is expected to grow by 4% by 2028. Italy, with consumption of 35,6 billion euros and annual growth of 2,9%, is the fifth European market. It is also in second place in the combined production of spirits and sparkling wines. These data highlight the potential of the sector and the centrality of the Rome Bar Show for operators.
The 2024 edition of the event recorded over 15 thousand visitors, 200 exhibiting companies and 50 international guests, confirming its position as one of the main trade fairs in the sector in Europe. The 2025 edition, scheduled for the end of May, aims to further enhance the culture of drinking with a mix of business, training and events spread throughout the city of Rome, increasing its appeal compared to the fairs in Northern Europe.
Thanks to this operation, Fiere di Parma strengthens its internationalization strategy and the role of Italy in the global food & beverage panorama.
