Passing of the baton at Filiera Madeo, a reality of agri-food excellence in Calabria: Anna Madeo, daughter of the founder Ernesto, becomes the new President of the company. The announcement coincides with the celebrations for the 40th year of activity of the company, founded in 1984 by Ernesto Madeo starting from a small black pig farm in the hills of Sila Greca and saving this breed from extinction.

Filiera Madeo is an agri-food group that exports to 26 countries around the world, today the first company in Southern Italy authorized to export meat to the United States. It has over 150 employees and collaborators for a turnover of almost 26 million euros in 2023, up 8% compared to the previous year.

Anna Madeo, 36, after graduating from Bocconi University in Milan, returned to San Demetrio Corone to lead the family business at the end of a training course and international professional experiences. “Being part of Filiera Madeo means not only carrying on a family business – Anna Madeo declared during the event dedicated to the fortieth anniversary of the company that was held today in San Demetrio Corone in the presence of friends, employees, partners, institutions – but concretely committing to the development of Calabria, its excellence and in generating value for local communities that, also thanks to realities like ours, have the opportunity to remain in the territory and build, day by day, the future”.
