With the beginning of the year Fratelli Branca Distillery has become the new partner and exclusive distributor for Italy of Cane flower, a historic premium rum produced in Nicaragua. A strategic agreement uniting two iconic names in the international spirits scene, united by a long-term industrial vision and a strong bond with family tradition.
The partnership marks a key step in Flor de Caña's development in one of Europe's most mature and competitive spirits markets. Italy is a high-value market, where premiumization, a culture of conscious drinking, and attention to product origin are redefining consumption dynamics. In this context, partnering with a distributor with over 180 years of history and a widespread presence across the country represents a strategic boost for the Nicaraguan brand.
The two companies share a common DNA, founded on family continuity—both now led by the fifth generation—and an approach that combines innovation and respect for their roots. This alignment of values also translates into a strong focus on ESG issues, which are increasingly central to trade decisions and premium positioning strategies.
Flor de Caña stands out globally for its sustainable production model: exclusive use of renewable energy, capture of CO₂ emissions generated during fermentation, management of a plantation with over a million trees, and carbon neutral certification. This approach is consistent with the environmental commitment also pursued by Fratelli Branca Distillerie in its industrial processes and social responsibility policies.
The agreement includes the distribution of the entire Flor de Caña portfolio, characterized by rums naturally aged in oak barrels, without additives or artificial ingredients, matured at the foot of an active volcano. Founded in 1890, the distillery has built a solid international reputation, supported by numerous awards in major global markets.
For Fratelli Branca Distillerie, the addition of Flor de Caña represents a further strengthening of its offering in the premium and super-premium segment, with the aim of developing structured synergies with the HoReCa channel and major specialized trade operators. For Flor de Caña, Italy thus becomes a key market in which to invest in a structured manner, leveraging a partner capable of enhancing its identity, positioning, and growth potential.
More than a simple distribution operation, the agreement is configured as a shared industrial project, aimed at building long-term value and spreading a spirits culture based on quality, authenticity, and responsibility.
