Gimv has announced the acquisition of The Spice Factory (TSF), a leading private label herb and spice supplier in the Benelux. The company, headquartered in Braine l'Alleud, Belgium, is a point of reference for retailers and foodservice operators, distinguishing itself through customized and high-quality solutions.

The operation represents an important growth opportunity for TSF, which, thanks to the support of Gimv, aims to strengthen its market position and expand internationally. Production flexibility and focus on innovation will be key assets to attract new customers and consolidate its presence abroad.

Gimv acquires majority stake from Gilde Equity Management and Davy De Muyer, while CEO Jorgen De Pelsmaeker and the management team will reinvest in the company, supporting the next phase of development.

“This acquisition marks the first step in deploying the capital recently raised by Gimv, with the aim of investing in consumer companies with strong international growth potential,” said David De Peuter and Laurens Boriale, Partner and Principal of Gimv Consumer.

For his part, Jorgen De Pelsmaeker, CEO of TSF, underlines how the partnership with Gimv will allow to accelerate the expansion through organic growth strategies and targeted acquisitions, keeping innovation and customer value at the center.

The transaction is expected to close by March 2025, with no further financial details disclosed. The acquisition confirms Gimv's interest in the food sector, targeting companies with strong differentiation and the ability to scale global markets.
