Guala Closures, specialized in the production of closures for spirits, wines, beer, water and beverages, announces the appointment of Andrea Lodetti to the role of Group CEO.
Previously, Lodetti was CEO of Bormioli Pharma, a leading manufacturer of pharmaceutical glass and plastic packaging solutions, with nine manufacturing plants in Europe and a global presence. During his tenure, the company doubled its revenue and EBITDA. During his career, Lodetti also held management positions in various industrial companies such as Ceramiche Richetti (ceramic tile sector) and Snaidero Group (kitchen sector).
He began his career as a development engineer in aerospace companies and then gained several years of experience as a consultant at Bain & Company. Thanks to his entrepreneurial and leadership skills, Lodetti has demonstrated considerable ability to drive business growth, support operational efficiency and successfully complete acquisitions and strategic integrations. His appointment will therefore support Guala Closures in its growth and development path.
As of September 2024, the Group achieved revenues of €866 million and adjusted EBITDA of €194 million considering the previous 12 months and including the recent acquisitions of Astir in Greece and Fengyi in China.
In 2024, Guala Closures accelerated its development plan with significant progress, resulting in the strengthening of its market presence and customer relationships. Investments in new plants in Scotland and Nigeria were completed with the aim of improving the Group's global presence and operational capabilities, and the remaining 30% minority stakes in Guala Closures DGS Poland and Guala Closures Bulgaria were acquired, thus promoting the rationalization of the operating structure. The Group also entered the crown closures sector through the acquisition of Astir, further expanding its presence in the mineral water and non-alcoholic beverage markets and also expanding into the beer sector.
