Alexander Koch, currently CEO of Heineken Vietnam, will take over the leadership of Heineken Italy. Effective August 1, 2024, Koch will replace Wietse Mutters, who is leaving the position after four years to continue her career in Vietnam.

During his tenure, Mutters strengthened Heineken's presence in the Italian market, increasing market share, revenue and operating profit, as well as expanding the portfolio of successful local brands, such as Ichnusa, Birra Messina and Birra Moretti.

Having joined Heineken in October 1997 as a commercial management trainee, Koch has held several senior positions in the company. From 2007 to 2011, he was Commercial Director of Bralirwa in Rwanda. He then served as Marketing Director for Athenian Brewery in Greece from 2011 to 2015, before becoming Managing Director of Brassivoire, where he led the brand’s entry into the Ivory Coast market. In August 2018, Koch was appointed Commercial Director of Heineken Vietnam and in 2020 he became Managing Director. During his tenure, despite external challenges, Heineken Vietnam continued to grow, consolidating its position as market leader thanks to an expanded portfolio and brand expansion strategy.
