The shareholders' meeting of illycaffè approved the renewal of the Board of Directors, defining the team that will lead the company until 2027. Andrea Illy was confirmed as Chairman, while Cristina Scocchia will continue to hold the role of Chief Executive Officer, after having led a phase of significant organic growth in the previous three years. Raffaele Jerusalmi takes on the role of Vice Chairman, while Michaela Tod, Marco Bizzarri and Gianmario Tondato Da Ruos join the board for the first time. The reconfirmed directors Anna Illy Jr., Carolyn Dittmeier, Marianne Kirkegaard, Robert Agostinelli and Paola Cillo complete the composition of the Board of Directors.
The renewal of the company's top management is part of a broader process of strategic evolution. In a complex global scenario, marked by rising coffee prices and geopolitical tensions, illycaffè aims to consolidate its position on the market and accelerate growth. At the heart of the new plan are a review of the geographical positioning - with a focus on Europe and the United States - and the development of institutional partnerships to improve agricultural production in Latin America. Illycaffè also aims to strengthen the direct relationship with consumers, offering products with a high service content and investing in technological solutions that integrate the machine and the coffee in an increasingly synergic way.
“With the new structure of the illycaffè Board of Directors, fit for fight and ready to provide an acceleration that can lead to a doubling of the business in the short and medium term"”, declared Andrea Illy, underlining the strategic contribution expected from the new directors, all with important international experience in the sectors of brand marketing, catering and innovation.
The new members of the Board of Directors bring diverse skills and a global reach. Michaela Tod has held executive roles at companies such as Dyson, ProSiebenSat.1 and Elvie, distinguishing herself in leading transformation and growth processes. Marco Bizzarri, former Chairman and CEO of Gucci, revolutionized the brand through an innovative approach to retail and digital, tripling revenue and achieving carbon neutrality. Gianmario Tondato Da Ruos has instead led Autogrill for two decades, gaining solid experience in managing large international food service groups.
