Brazilian meat processing giant JBS will invest $100 million to build two production plants in Vietnam. The plants, which will produce beef, pork and poultry, will use mainly raw materials imported from Brazil.

The agreement with the Vietnamese government provides for construction in two phases: the first plant will be built in Hai Phòng, in the northeast of the country, with an attached logistics center. The second, located in southern Vietnam, will be similar to the first and will begin production about two years after the start of the first.

JBS aims to supply the local market and Southeast Asia, creating around 500 jobs. The investment aims to expand the company's presence in the region and strengthen its position in the global market.

Renato Costa, president of Friboi di JBS, emphasizes the importance of the investment for the local economy and food security in Southeast Asia. The company aims for sustainable and innovative production.

This investment follows other significant global projects by JBS, including those in the USA, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, as well as the acquisition of The Vegetarian Butcher from Unilever.
