Lactalis, a France-based dairy giant, has announced an investment of approximately $55,3 million to expand its production facilities in the Brazilian state of Paraná. The investment, made official on March 18 in Curitiba in the presence of Governor Ratinho Júnior and Lactalis CEO in Brazil, Roosevelt Junior, aims to strengthen the company's leadership in the country's milk supply chain.

Over the past ten years, Lactalis has invested more than 710 million reais in Paraná, operating plants in Londrina, Carambeí and Pato Branco. The Carambeí plant is the largest, with 830 employees, followed by Londrina with 280 and Pato Branco with 36.

The company did not specify whether the investment would lead to new jobs, but said the projects would be completed by December 2025. The move follows a 250 million reais expansion plan announced in November to modernize seven factories in the state of Minas Gerais. Lactalis also recently announced an additional 100 million reais investment to upgrade five factories in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Lactalis, founded in 1933 in Laval, owns well-known brands such as Batavo, Président and Elegê. The company continues to expand in South America, with the acquisition of the Uruguayan company Granja Pocha and the enhancement of the production lines of UHT milk and cheese products in its Brazilian plants.
