Lidl Italy consolidates its position among the leading players in large-scale retail trade, confirming its position as the brand with the fastest customer growth in the Italian market. According to the latest NielsenIQ surveys, 65% of Italian families, equivalent to over 16 million households, have made at least one purchase at a Lidl store in the last twelve months.
This result highlights the brand's growing ability to attract new consumers in an environment still dominated by a focus on household spending containment. In the last 13 months alone, over a million new families have chosen Lidl for their shopping, a performance that, according to the company, surpasses that of its main competitors in modern retail.
With a network of 800 stores distributed throughout the country, Lidl continues to expand its presence and strengthen its relationship with consumers, leveraging a commercial model based on simplicity, convenience and quality of offering.
"We are extremely proud of this success, which demonstrates the daily trust our customers place in our brand," says Gianfranco Marc Brunetti, Chief Customer Officer of Lidl Italy. "This result demonstrates Lidl's extraordinary penetration of the large-scale retail market: a record increase of over one million new families in just over a year, outperforming all of our main national competitors."
According to Brunetti, the brand's strategy aims to continue along this growth path through ongoing investments in product quality and competitive prices, with the goal of meeting the needs of an ever-growing consumer base.
The result is particularly significant at a time when families continue to pay close attention to the value of their shopping and the quality-price ratio. In this context, the German discounter presents itself as a helpful ally in managing household budgets, offering a range that combines private label and branded products, with a growing focus on sustainability and conscious consumption.
The company emphasizes that its success is the result of a customer-centric model, simplifying the shopping experience and ensuring an offering that combines convenience and quality. This strategy continues to strengthen Lidl's position in the Italian retail landscape and confirms its growing consumer acceptance.
