Dalma Mangimi, the leading Italian group in the production of sustainable ingredients for animal feed based on former human food products, controlled by Nextalia, evolves into “Regardia” and launches itself into the conquest of new brands and markets. A transformation that reflects the role of a company founded in 1981 and now a leader in Italy in the circular economy. With a turnover projection for 2024 of 50 million euros, significantly increasing compared to 2023 and approximately 120 employees (+20% year on year), Regardia began its consolidation process with the acquisition in July 2024 of the majority of Zoo Assets, a company active in the distribution of supplements, and is evaluating further acquisitions aimed at strengthening its positioning on the market with the aim of becoming the leading Italian platform in the circular economy focused on the reduction of food waste and the reference player for companies in the sector.

The results of the Life Cycle Assessment have already revealed how, by adopting the Regardia product, the need to use agricultural products for animal feed is significantly reduced. In detail, the Regardia product can replace 20% to 30% of traditional ingredients in a daily ration.

By adopting this strategy in the field of cattle, pigs and poultry, compared to a 100% conventional diet, a 26% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions, 20% in water consumption and 21% in cultivated land can be achieved for cattle; a 29% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, 57% in water consumption and 38% in cultivated land for pigs; a 22% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, 23% in water consumption and 33% in cultivated land for chickens.
