Olitalia has published its second Sustainability Report for 2023. The company, with over 40 years of activity, distributes its products in approximately 120 countries, dominating the food service sector in Italy and strengthening its presence in the retail channel, with the aim of offering the same quality to end consumers. Olitalia is recognized as “the favorite brand of Italian chefs” and stands out for its ability to anticipate market needs.
According to Angelo Cremonini, Chairman of Olitalia Group, the dialogue with internal and external stakeholders has confirmed the importance of innovation, quality and attention to the environment as pillars of the corporate strategy. The materiality analysis has also helped to redefine corporate priorities and establish strategic objectives for the future.
The report highlights some key findings:
- Economic value: In 2023, Olitalia recorded a turnover of 262 million euros, with the sale of over 93 million liters of oil (+2% compared to 2022). Sales of Olitalia branded products in Italy grew by 27%, generating 58 million euros. Significant investments in packaging plants have improved productivity and reduced energy consumption.
- People: The company has 129 employees, 89% of whom are employed on a permanent basis. Corporate welfare policies have been implemented, such as smart working and support for employees affected by the 2023 flood. Olitalia has also supported several local initiatives such as the Istituto Oncologico Romagnolo and other social organizations.
- Environment: In 2023 Olitalia used 100% renewable electricity. From 2022 all one-liter bottles of the seed and frying oil line are produced with recycled R-PET plastic. The “Exhausted but full of life” project for the management of used oil has been further developed, with an extension plan to consumers.
Finally, Olitalia has developed an improvement plan (2023-2028) for its governance, social and environmental performance, with objectives such as the creation of a Sustainability Committee and the reduction of environmental impact.
