Walmart closed the first quarter of fiscal 2026 with revenue up 2,5% to $165,6 billion, supported by a 22% increase in global e-commerce sales. Excluding currency, growth was 4%. Operating profit rose 4,3% to $7,1 billion (up 3% at constant currency), driven by improved margins and increased subscription revenue.

In the U.S., comparable sales (excluding fuel) increased 4,5%, with strong performance in health and wellness and grocery. E-commerce contributed approximately 350 basis points of the increase, driven by express delivery, pickup services and growth in the Walmart Connect advertising platform, which increased 31%.

“We have delivered strong results in a dynamic operating environment. We are serving our customers and members in new ways, fueling our growth. We are well positioned for the near term and continue to invest for the long term,” said CEO Doug McMillon.

Internationally, revenue (at constant exchange rates) increased by +7,8% thanks to good performances in China, Flipkart and Walmex, but operating profit decreased by -6,4% due to strategic investments. Sam's Club recorded comparable sales growth of +6,7% and an increase in operating profit of 11,5%.

For the second quarter, Walmart expects sales to increase between +3,5% and +4,5% at constant currency. The outlook for the full fiscal year remains unchanged, with revenue expected to increase +3-4% and operating profit between +3,5% and +5,5%.
