Transgourmet Ibérica continues its consolidation strategy in the retail channel, focusing on proximity, convenience and quality. In the first six months of 2025, the company – active in distribution to restaurants and local supermarkets – opened 14 new stores under the Suma (12) and Spar (2) brands, reaching a total surface area of 3.325 square metres and generating 76 new jobs.
The new openings were distributed across six autonomous communities: five in Catalonia (Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona), four in the Balearic Islands (Mallorca and Ibiza), two in the Canary Islands (Tenerife and Gran Canaria), one in Andalusia (Huelva), one in Navarre (Tudela) and one in the Valencian Community (Valencia).
At the same time, Transgourmet has renovated 65 stores to adapt them to local needs. A significant innovation is the launch of Suma Fresh&Go, an innovative local supermarket format designed for consumers looking for speed, freshness, and ready-to-eat solutions.
The Suma brand—which in 2025 celebrates 25 years since the opening of its first store in Barcelona—is part of a special year for the group, which also celebrates its centenary. To mark the occasion, events have been organized in several Spanish cities and celebratory projects have been launched, including a photography exhibition, a documentary, and the company anthem, "Somos fuertes."
Transgourmet Ibérica currently has around 700 points of sale in the main Spanish autonomous communities, under the Suma, Proxim and Spar brands.
