All'Antico Vinaio is opening an entire building in Paris, bringing schiacciata fiorentina (flatbread) just steps from the Moulin Rouge. The new French flagship, inaugurated on October 8th at 2 Rue Lepic, occupies 500 square meters spread across four levels in the 18th arrondissement, at the foot of Montmartre. It is the brand's second Parisian location and, according to the company, the largest in its global network.
The opening introduces a format that combines production, sales, and catering in the same building. The bakery produces schiacciata daily on site, while the shop features a large open counter for preparation and sales. A dining room with table service expands the dining options beyond street food, offering customers the option of staying in the shop.
The top floor houses the kitchen, where the ingredients that make up the brand's recipes are prepared, from Pecorino and Parmigiano creams to potato creams. In-house production is therefore a key element of the project, which echoes the layout of the historic shop on Via de' Neri in Florence and expands it to a larger scale. The glass façade also allows some of the processes to be visible, integrating the product preparation into the in-store experience.
CEO Tommaso Mazzanti, who personally oversaw the new opening, attended the inauguration. "To think that I started out with my parents in just 18 square meters and now I can announce I've taken over an entire building in Paris—just saying it gives me chills," he said. "It will be the largest All'Antico Vinaio in the world: a true schiacciata temple."
For the occasion, the first floor also hosted an initiative inspired by the Italian piazza, created in collaboration with several national food establishments to showcase the ingredients used in schiacciate. This choice is consistent with the restaurant's concept, which aims to showcase the product through on-site processing and a varied offering of both counter-sale and table service.
The Montmartre location places the new address in a neighborhood popular with both residents and tourists. Its proximity to the Moulin Rouge and the routes leading up the hill gives the brand a showcase in one of the most recognizable areas of the French capital.
With this opening, All'Antico Vinaio now has 63 stores worldwide and nearly a thousand employees and collaborators. The network extends across Italy, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and France, confirming the importance of foreign markets in the company's development.
Founded in Florence in 1991 by the Mazzanti family, the business opened its first store outside its hometown in Milan in 2020. The Parisian location marks a further step in the brand's growth, with a format that combines takeaway schiacciata with spaces and services designed for longer stays.
