Standard Ethics has confirmed Casillo Group's "EE" rating in the Corporate Standard Ethics Rating (SER), placing the company sixth out of nine on the London-based sustainability agency's scale. This recognition consolidates the Apulian group's ESG commitment, a national leader in the processing and marketing of durum and soft wheat, and active in the raw materials trading and agri-food retail sectors.
In recent years, Casillo has developed a sustainability governance system consistent with the guidelines of the United Nations, OECD, and the European Union, strengthening transparency and integrating environmental, social, and governance criteria into corporate processes. Recent initiatives include the adoption of a Supplier Code of Conduct and the dissemination of questionnaires to assess the ESG performance of the supply chain.
The group's non-financial reporting has expanded in anticipation of the entry into force of new European regulations on corporate sustainability. Casillo has also begun developing products derived from circular economy processes, supported by life cycle assessments (LCA).
The next step will be the publication of the new Sustainability Plan, which will define medium-term objectives and improvement paths to consolidate the group's role in the international agro-industrial landscape.
