Regina, the most famous brand of the Sofidel Group, one of the world leaders in the production of tissue paper for hygienic and domestic use, marketed in more than 30 countries, announces the launch of Rotoloni Regina toilet paper to large-scale retail trade (GDO) in five European countries: Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Hungary and Romania.
In Italy, Rotoloni Regina have become part of the history of customs and advertising since the 90s thanks to the catchphrase “I Rotoloni che non finito mai”. Their introduction on the market also represented the invention of a new Nielsen product category, that of Maxi Rotoli, rolls of larger diameter with a number of tears more than double compared to standard rolls.
Today, Regina is the second tissue paper brand in Europe in terms of annual sales value. In addition to Italy, the brand is present in 23 countries in Europe with various product categories: toilet paper, kitchen towels, napkins, handkerchiefs and hand towels.
The introduction of Rotoloni Regina toilet paper in five European countries aims to meet consumer purchasing needs and support the growth of the category's value, offering tissue paper rolls characterised by the high quality of Sofidel products, with a length double or more than double that of standard rolls and which take up half the space on the shelf.
“With the same certainty of the performance of our products, Rotoloni Regina offer a longer life, with less frequent changes of rolls, and less frequent purchases of toilet paper, as well as unique sustainability features, such as a lower amount of packaging material per kg of paper and more efficient transportation per ton of paper”, comments Philippe Defacqz, Sofidel Vice President Marketing & Sales – Brand.
The European launch of Rotoloni Regina is part of Sofidel's broader sustainable development strategy, contributing to the Group's environmental sustainability objectives. The product's packaging, as in Italy, is made of recycled plastic or kraft paper (depending on the European country), in line with the objective of halving the incidence of conventional plastic in the Group's production.
