Sammontana Italia Group has announced the acquisition of La Rocca Creative Cakes, a Canadian company specializing in the production of frozen cakes and desserts, through the new company Sammontana North America. The operation represents a strategic step in the international expansion of the Italian group, which aims to strengthen its presence in foreign markets.
Founded in Toronto by the Givens family, La Rocca is now a leading brand in the in-store bakery sector in Canada and the United States. With a weekly production of over 120.000 cakes and an annual turnover of over 70 million Canadian dollars, the company stands out for its artisanal quality and innovation.
The acquisition is part of the Sammontana Group's growth plan, which aims to consolidate its presence in the North American market. The La Rocca brand will be alongside the Bindi brand, already active in the food service channel, creating synergies between the two segments.
“We are confident that this operation will allow us to strengthen our positioning and offer high-quality products with an increasingly recognizable identity,” said Alessandro Angelon, CEO of Sammontana Italia. Michael Givens, President of La Rocca, also expressed enthusiasm for the new partnership, underlining the opportunity for shared growth.
The acquisition, subject to closing conditions, is expected to be completed by March 2025.
