San Carlo presents its new limited edition line “Piùgusto” with a cacio e pepe flavour, a combination that won the seventh edition of the “Alla ricerca del gusto” competition, celebrating a gastronomic excellence typical of Roman cuisine.
Every new flavor is a discovery, it can come from far away, born from trips that allow you to experiment with your mind and your palate or up close, when in childhood memories you find never-forgotten scents and flavors. And it is precisely from memories that the new Limited Edition piùgusto is born, flavor “Cacio e Pepe”, the winning combination of the seventh edition of the San Carlo competition “Alla ricerca del gusto” proposed by the 26-year-old Milanese Angelica, which releases all the flavor of a great Italian and typically Roman taste.
Taste belongs to the curious and, on this occasion, the palate rediscovers a world of all-Italian flavors. The “Cacio e Pepe” pairing is born from the bond with tradition and the passion for one of the most beloved dishes of Roman cuisine, perfect for those who love to travel to discover new flavors and are amazed by the authenticity of a classic taste.
This new limited edition was selected by a quality jury from over 129 thousand combinations proposed by participants, for its unique simplicity capable of enclosing an extraordinary but at the same time surprising flavor. The decisive touch of pecorino and the aroma of freshly ground pepper come together to give life to an energetic and enveloping combination.
“Since I was a child, spending a lot of time at my beloved grandmothers' house in Lucania, I have breathed in the love for cooking. Their expert gestures, while they kneaded the 'homemade pasta' (as we called it), taught me the magic of creating something precious from nothing. – says Angelica – Roman cuisine, with its simplicity and authenticity, has conquered my palate and inspired me to create my own taste. And how could I not include cacio e pepe among my favorite dishes?”.
Angelica, thanks to her ability to combine traditional flavours that have given life to the new Limited Edition piùgusto gusto Cacio e Pepe, wins a real Taste Hunter Experience: a voucher worth €10.000 for a food and wine trip that will take her to discover new destinations with both her eyes and her palate.
Once again, curiosity guided the proposals of the numerous taste hunters, who participated in the competition by choosing from over 80 available ingredients and creating their favorite mix, through a virtual journey to countries around the world in search of new combinations.
The new Cacio e Pepe flavour will be available in 50, 70 and 150g formats, and will join the other flavours in the existing range: Vivace, Lime and Pink Pepper, Seasonal Cherry Tomatoes and Porchetta with Herbs.
