Despite a slowing snack market and continuing weak food consumption, San Carlo Gruppo Alimentare closed 2025 with growing revenues, profits, and margins, consolidating its position in the Chips & Snacks sector in the year of its ninetieth anniversary. The group presented its consolidated financial statements as of December 31, 2025, showing net revenues of €366,36 million, up 0,54% compared to €364,40 million in the previous year. This growth is modest but significant given the performance of the reference market, which in the modern channel saw a contraction of 0,4% in value and 1,3% in volume in the Chips & Snacks segment, while the Out-of-Home Bar segment saw a decline of 2,7%.
In this context, the Milanese group strengthened its presence in large-scale distribution, gaining 0,7 points of value share in the Chips & Snacks segment and demonstrating greater resilience compared to the market in the bar channel as well.
In terms of profitability, EBITDA stood at €63,70 million, equal to 17,39% of net revenues, confirming the solidity of the operating structure. Operating profit, on the other hand, showed strong growth: EBIT rose 30,8% to €38,82 million, compared to €29,68 million in 2024. Consolidated net profit increased 1,64% to €23,90 million, compared to €23,52 million the previous year.
The investment plan implemented during the financial year was also significant. The group allocated over €40 million to industrial development, with investments in production facilities, digital systems supporting the supply chain, and the renewal of the company fleet with the introduction of 527 new vehicles. Net financial position stood at €124,76 million. Founded in 1936 as a Milanese rotisserie on Via Lecco, San Carlo is now 90 years old with an industrial structure comprising four plants in Lombardy, Piedmont, and Trentino, over 150 distribution centers, more than 2.000 employees, and a sales network of over 1.200 agents operating in approximately 200 stores.
"In a year that saw the Chips & Snacks market contract, the Group confirmed its growth trajectory in revenue, profit, and market share," stated Susanna Vitaloni. "These positive results allow us to enter 2026, our ninetieth anniversary year, with the strength of structural growth."
The manager also emphasized that the investments made in 2025 focused not only on production capacity but also on ESG and cybersecurity initiatives, which are considered strategic elements for strengthening product quality, efficiency, and local presence. The green light was also given to the statutory financial statements of Unichips Finanziaria, which closed the financial year with a profit of €15,73 million, up from €14,21 million in 2024.
