Food tech startup Saporeeto, led by Tommaso Pelladoni, aims to revolutionize the ready-to-eat market with sustainable and innovative solutions, with the goal of reaching one million dishes per month by 2027 and expanding into the main Italian marketplaces.
Saporeeto, a food tech startup founded by Tommaso Pelladoni and supported by the Axxelera incubator, is experiencing significant growth in the ready-to-eat meals market. In its first year of business, production capacity increased by 600%, rising to 250.000 portions per month between August 2023 and August 2024, with the goal of reaching one million ready-to-eat meals per month by 2027. Turnover is also booming, from €256.000 in 2023 to a million expected this year, with a target of €14 million by 2027. The startup is also working on patents for risotto and pasta, which will further expand its offering.
One of the main drivers of Saporeeto's growth is the trend of flexitarians, consumers who reduce their meat consumption for health, ethical or economic reasons. In Italy, 12% regularly follow this diet and, globally, 70% of people adopt a similar diet, preferring plant-based alternatives or legumes. Saporeeto continuously develops and tests new recipes in its Food Lab to meet these needs, combining innovation and sustainability.
In the future, Saporeeto will focus on e-commerce and large-scale retail trade. Currently present in five large-scale retail chains in Northern Italy, the startup plans to expand further into the main Italian marketplaces by 2025. It will also participate in the main national and international trade fairs in the sector to consolidate its presence on the market. Saporeeto is also active in the B2B sector, offering its support to companies for the development of private label ready meals through its research and development team.
Saporeeto stands out for the combination of Italian culinary tradition and innovation, responding to new consumer trends with sustainable and high-quality products, both for the domestic and international markets.
