Interpreting foreign markets and translating their specificities into concrete solutions for large-scale retail trade is one of the main drivers of growth for the Italian food industry today. It is within this context that the project developed by Scoiattolo Ravioli Factory, which signs two new limited editions of fresh stuffed pasta dedicated exclusively to the British market and intended for Morrisons, one of the main large-scale retail chains in the United Kingdom.
The two products were designed to capture key events in the English shopping calendar, from Valentine's Day to Mother's Day and Easter, and will be on sale between February and early April in approximately 280 stores, confirming the Varese-based company's strong international vocation and its ability to work on tailor-made projects for foreign retailers.
Joining Morrisons in October 2025 with a continuous Scoiattolo-branded assortment represented a strategic move, made possible by a carefully crafted positioning and a proposition that showcased Made in Italy products within the deli counter. This foundation led to the limited edition project, developed in close collaboration with the brand's buyers and category managers.
The first product, available until March 9th, is a heart-shaped ravioli made with a dedicated mold, weighing approximately 16 grams and containing up to 50% filling, designed to enhance its flavor and texture. The filling, clearly inspired by Anglo-Saxon tradition, is made with beef cheek slowly braised with bay leaves, soffritto, and red wine, processed whole to preserve its fibrous texture and offer a visual and sensorial experience consistent with British consumer expectations. This gourmet deli product is offered at a promotional price of £2.50.
Alongside its savory offerings, Scoiattolo is introducing a sweet option available from March 2nd to April 6th: a Gran Panzerotto filled with dark chocolate, designed to offer a soufflé-like experience, with a creamy center that melts while cooking. This is a relatively unexplored offering in the fresh filled pasta category, designed to surprise and differentiate the offering.
The two limited editions represent a concrete example of the company's ability to innovate formats, recipes, and production processes to meet the needs of large-scale international distribution. This approach has helped exports account for 70% of total revenue, with growth driven by the United States and Canada and progressive strengthening in Asia and Oceania.
Today, Scoiattolo exports to numerous European and non-European markets, with foreign volumes increasing from 11,3 million kg in 2022 to 14,2 million in 2024, for a value of over 48 million euros, confirming a strategy based on research and development, industrial flexibility, and collaboration with retailers.
