Princes Group has announced the departure of Chief Executive Officer and Board Director Simon Harrison, effective June 30, 2026. The British food and beverage company is thus embarking on a new management phase, amid the integration process with NewPrinces Group, which was completed following its acquisition in 2024.
Harrison is leaving the company after five years with the group, the last two of which as CEO. During his tenure, he led Princes through a strategic transformation, overseeing the company's integration and transition to listing on the London Stock Exchange.
Giuseppe Mastrolia, currently Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Board Director, will take over the role, having been appointed interim CEO effective July 1, 2026. At the same time, the group announced the start of the selection process to find a new permanent CEO.
Mastrolia joined the Princes board in July 2024, immediately following its acquisition by NewPrinces, subsequently assuming the role of chief commercial officer in the autumn of that year. Based at the company's Liverpool headquarters, he played a key role in developing and implementing the group's commercial strategy.
The manager also brings significant international leadership experience, having served as CEO of NewPrinces Group for the past nine years. This managerial continuity, according to the group, should ensure stability during the transition phase and support the consolidation of industrial and commercial operations.
Angelo Mastrolia, Chairman of NewPrinces Group, thanked Simon Harrison for his work over the past few years: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Simon for his contribution and leadership during the integration of Princes and especially in the transition to listing on the London Stock Exchange. We wish him all the best for the future.”
In his farewell message, Harrison emphasized the group's future prospects: "Princes is well positioned for the future and I look forward to its continued success. It has been a privilege to lead a great British company through a period of exciting change."
The change at the helm comes at an important time for Princes, a historic British food group active in the grocery, canned goods, beverages and edible oils segments, currently at the centre of the NewPrinces international expansion project.
With the interim appointment of Giuseppe Mastrolia, the group now aims to further strengthen its industrial and commercial positioning, maintaining strategic continuity while the search for a future CEO continues.
