Educating new generations on the value of food and the importance of reducing food waste: this is the aim of Too Good To Go Next Gen, the new project launched by Too Good To Go and aimed at children aged 6 to 11. The program, free and downloadable online, offers families, teachers and tutors simple and engaging tools to address the issue of waste through games, practical activities and moments of reflection. At the heart of the initiative are two dedicated manuals: “What is food waste?” and “How to avoid food waste”, designed to make the causes, consequences and child-friendly solutions understandable.
“We believe that involving the little ones is crucial to building a sustainable future,” comments Mirco Cerisola, Country Director Italy of Too Good To Go. “As a father, I know how important it is to provide concrete tools to educate respect for food and the environment.”
The program is part of the new digital platform Too Good To Go Education Hub, which also includes the “Etichetta Consapevole” initiative, now adopted in Italy by 50 brands on over 300 references and printed on 390 million packages. Other resources available also include “Business Leaders of Tomorrow”, designed to inspire students and young entrepreneurs to integrate sustainability into business models. Active in 19 countries, Too Good To Go has already saved 500 million meals from waste and now aims to involve all age groups in a shared battle for the planet.
