GranTerre and Parmacotto Agreement

The Antitrust Authority has given the green light to the operation between Granterre and Parmacotto, considering that it does not pose significant risks to competition in the cured meats markets. This is stated in the bulletin published on April 7. The closing of the operation is scheduled for April 16.

Granterre will acquire 100% of Parmacotto through a capital increase of Salumifici Granterre, a company that will fully control Parmacotto. Following the transaction, Granterre will hold 80% of Salumifici Granterre, while the remaining 20% will be held by ASZ.

The board of directors will consist of six members: four designated by Granterre and two by ASZ. A two-year non-competition agreement involving the companies and their partners is also foreseen. The geographical perimeter of the restriction has not been specified. The Authority has established that an investigation is not necessary, while leaving open the possibility of technical changes during the closing phase.
