Despite being a global brand, Coca-Cola continues to strengthen its local roots in Spain, where every euro spent on its products reinvests 76 cents in the country's economy. This is one of the key findings from the fourth edition of the Socioeconomic impact report 2024 Presented by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Iberia. In 2024, the added value generated by Coca-Cola's operations in Spain reached €6.951 million, equivalent to 0,44% of the national GDP. Of this, over €6.400 million was generated indirectly through the supply chain, involving suppliers, distributors, and customers. The soft drinks sector exceeded €10.700 million in added value, according to Anfabra.
Consumers spent €9.200 billion on Coca-Cola beverages, equivalent to 2.900 billion liters sold. Since 2022, the company has purchased €1.500 billion in goods and services from local suppliers, reflecting the Spanish preference for local products. Investment in infrastructure reached €65 million in 2024, earmarked for facility improvements and sustainability. Over the past six years, investments have exceeded €300 million. The impact on suppliers has been €2.636 billion, while tax revenues for the state amount to over €3.000 billion.
Coca-Cola beverages are available in more than 310.000 stores, serving nearly all of Spain's 8.132 municipalities. In terms of employment, the company has generated 109.137 jobs, including 3.937 direct ones. Consumption of still drinks is also growing, driven by the success of Fuze Tea. According to Coca-Cola, the tea category is expanding, and the brand's recognizable flavor is attracting more and more customers in tea shops.
