Morrisons is accelerating the integration of in-store digital services and expanding its partnership with Amazon by introducing 350 automated returns kiosks. The new solution, already operational in several stores, aims to offer customers a "faster and more convenient" way to return their online purchases while doing their weekly shopping.

The completely self-service kiosks allow customers to complete the return process in just a few steps: after initiating the return from their Amazon account, customers scan the QR code at the terminal and drop off the package directly at the collection point. The devices will be positioned near existing Amazon Lockers or at customer service desks.

With the introduction of the kiosks, Morrisons stores featuring them will automatically appear as an option during the Amazon returns process, further simplifying the experience. The retailer confirms that further installations are planned in the coming months, with the aim of completing the national rollout by early 2026.

For Morrisons, this is a strategic step in its omnichannel competition. According to John Parry, the retailer's head of services, "Parcel deliveries are now part of everyday life for most families in the UK, and the introduction of Amazon returns kiosks in our stores makes it even easier to return purchases, giving customers another reason to choose Morrisons."

The initiative strengthens an already established partnership between the two companies: Morrisons is one of Amazon's long-standing partners for grocery distribution in the UK. With the new kiosks, the retailer aims to increase store traffic, improve the customer journey, and position itself as a hub for useful services beyond traditional grocery shopping.
